The Hinkley's had a pretty good fourth of July this year, though it was low-key. We went over to my Mom's house for some burgers and hotdogs, and such. Quite delicious! We had brought over our bocce ball set but it was too hot for anyone to want to be outside. We will try again in the winter perhaps, lol. We headed back home in the late afternoon since it was a school night. The traffic by our apartment wasn't too crazy at this point so I went out for some groceries, which turned out to be an excellent idea. The store was practically empty and everything was on really good sale! I love our apartment, but the way home was kind of a mess. As you can see by the above photo, our balcony was the perfect locale to enjoy the big fireworks show they were holding at Eleanor Tinsley Park here in Houston, but the traffic was nuts! I am glad for now that we don't have little kids that we are obligated to take to see fireworks shows. I also caught the rerun on ESPN of the hotdog eating contest. It was gross. It was kind of weird having a day off in the middle of the week but I am thankful that we had some good food family and fireworks to fill it with! :) And now it is only one day until Friday! Woot!
