April Meet & Greet + Giveaway!

Happy end of April everyone!  Boy, this month flew by!  I'd like to take a moment to introduce some amazing bloggers who have so graciously sponsored At Home with the Hinkleys this month.  As usual, I have come up with extremely clever questions for them to answer so we can all learn a bit more about them!  Plus at the end, there is a really sweet giveaway going on...just sayin'. :)

Meet Dara!  I asked Dara...

1. Your name and where you blog?
Dara http://www.notinjersey.com

2. Where is home?
Not in Jersey! I'm from NJ but I now live in Overland Park, KS.

3. If you were a Barbie Doll, what would your accessories be?
knitting needles, books, a computer, and 3 kids.

4. Share a favorite lesser known blog you enjoy reading
http://annieonecancook.blogspot.com/
Annie is a cute Kansan like myself who blogs about her life and cooking.

5. What was your favorite childhood book?
I Want To Go Home by Gordon Korman
This was a funny book about a kid who kept trying to escape sleepaway
camp. I even had it autographed by the author!

6. Give us a piece of good life advice.
Always remember to appreciate every day.

7. If you could go back in time and slap someone in the face, who
would you slap? (old boyfriend? Hitler? Paula Deen?  Whomever!)
Probably this one girl who bullied me back in middle school...

Meet Becca!  I asked Becca,

Your name and where you blog?

1. Becca @ Becoming Adorrable

Where is home?
2. Atlanta, GA

If you were a Barbie, what would your accessories be?
3. Giant sunglasses

Share a lesser known blog you love:

Favorite childhood book?
5. There are Rocks in my Socks said the Ox to the Fox

Give us a piece of life advice:
6. "One day" isn't real commitment. Real commitment starts when two people take steps towards creating a life together.

If you could go back in time and slap someone?
7. That girl in 7th grade who made fun of me because my clothes came from Target. Target is awesome.

Meet Amanda!  I asked Amanda,

1. Your name and where you blog?- Amanda @ Mama & Co.

2. Where is home? Home is in the heart of Maryland!

3. If you were a Barbie Doll, what would your accessories be? Mhmm, I would have to say the pink convertible. I actually had one when I was growing up for Barbie and one for me! I used to tell my parents I was leaving in it to go to McDonald's. Now it would be awesome for it to be socially acceptable to drive around in a pink convertible with a huge Barbie logo and flowers all over it. hahah.

4. Share a favorite lesser known blog you enjoy reading- Amanda pleads the 5th on this one!

5. What was your favorite childhood book?- I would have to say any Dr. Seuss Books. My mom read to me every night and then I would read the books back to her and now I'm getting to enjoy that with my son. Even though he can't read yet he pretends like he can which just melts my heart.

6. Give us a piece of good life advice. Uhhhhh. I'm not really sure I have some good life advice. I'm just turning 23 on the 25th haha. But what I know so far is to have fun with life. I've been the type to be too uptight I guess you could say and I'm learning that I have to just let loose sometimes or I'll go crazy. Life is to be enjoyed not taken for granted.

7. If you could go back in time and slap someone in the face, who would you slap? (old boyfriend? Hitler? Paula Deen?  Whomever!) I would slap my dirty ol' ex husband. And I would slap him hard. And I'd probably slap him more than once.

Meet Natalie!  I asked Natalie,
1. Your name and where you blog?
My name is Natalie, which is pretty much the best name in the world, and I blog over at Beauty & Brains with Brown Eyes on the regular.

2. Where is home?
I currently reside in Aggieland, better known as College Station, but I grew up in a small Northeast Texas town. I moved almost 6 years ago for college, and I just haven't left since! But I seriously cannot stand college kids who drive like idiots..

3. If you were a Barbie Doll, what would your accessories be?
my iPhone, a water bottle, my purse full of everything from a hairbrush to mascara to a book and eye drops, and a handgun.

4. Share a favorite lesser known blog you enjoy reading.
Well, my best friend from college, Sammie, recently started blogging. She blogs about her weight loss journey & her new man friend. The rest of it is a complete hodge podge of her life. And she's real--no fakies there. You can check out her blog here. Did I mention that I did her layout?

5. What was your favorite childhood book?
I was always huge into Nancy Drew. I still have the first 10 books at home, sitting on the top shelf of my closet.

6. Give us a piece of good life advice.
It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart because God is working in our lives, even in the midst of pain & suffering.

7. If you could go back in time and slap someone in the face, who would you slap? (old boyfriend? Hitler? Paula Deen?  Whomever!)
I would slap 2 of the girls on my high school basketball team. There were evil and mean to everyone, and not at all team players. I have no idea why they set their sights on trying to tear me down, but it was probably because they were jealous of my mad baller skills! To this day I haven't seen them or heard anything about them.

Meet Myranda!  I asked Myranda

1. Your name and where you blog? Myranda I blog at www.prettylivingpdx.com

2. Where is home? My home is in rainy, depressing Portland Oregon. Okay, so yes it's really green but I recently returned from San Diego, so the grey is a little depressing

3. If you were a Barbie Doll, what would your accessories be? My accessories would be shoes, seriously if I could afford it I would have thousand's of pairs.

4. Share a favorite lesser known blog you enjoy reading- Oh...I found the blog Wonderfully Sewn (http://www.wonderfullysewn.com/) and I love reading it, this girl is only in high school so pretty impressive.

5. What was your favorite childhood book? Hands down I LOVE the book Stellaluna, it is about a bat who loses her mother and lives with birds. I still LOVE this book!

6. Give us a piece of good life advice. Don't be so serious, laugh a little more. It really will make you happier

7. If you could go back in time and slap someone in the face, who would you slap? (old boyfriend? Hitler? Paula Deen?  Whomever!) The blogger (who shall remain nameless) who wouldn't let me PURCHASE an ad space because I didn't have enough followers...I thought that was the point of purchasing ad space so you could grow your blog...hhmph!

Meet Angela!  I asked Angela,

1. Your name and where you blog?

2. Where is home?
My home, family, and heart lies in Fort Myers, FL. My second home is Tallahassee, FL though. These are the only 2 places I have ever lived and I'm strongly attached to both. If I have a next town to call home, it's going to have a hard time living up to these two.

3. If you were a Barbie Doll, what would your accessories be?
I would have a puppy, a Coach purse, a watch, earrings, and a ring on my right hand.

4. Share a favorite lesser known blog you enjoy reading
I love Ashley's blog: Embracing the Everyday

5. What was your favorite childhood book?
Sadly, I don't remember. I had a ton of Little Golden Books. I loved all books. My parents read me a story every night before bedtime. Reading was a big deal in our house.

6. Give us a piece of good life advice.
Live everyday as if it were your last. Go to bed with peace of mind and never leave words unspoken.

7. If you could go back in time and slap someone in the face, who would you slap? (old boyfriend? Hitler? Paula Deen?  Whomever!)
Definitely my ex-boyfriend. I learned a lot in our relationship. The biggest thing I learned is don't date someone who is wrong for you and wait the whole 3 years of your relationship to break up with them. I guess we live and learn :)

Meet Megan!  I asked Megan,

1. Your name and where you blog?
My name's Megan and I blog at Just a Small Town Girl

2. Where is home?
The place I will always consider home is in southeast Alabama. My current home is near Raleigh, North Carolina.

3. If you were a Barbie Doll, what would your accessories be?
I want to say something nice like an apple, dry erase marker, and paperwork to represent the teacher in me or a glue gun, felt, and tulle to represent my crafty side, but I'm going to let my true self show. My ideal Barbie accessories would be an ipad pulled up to Pinterest, a bowl of cookies and cream ice cream and a good book. Of course, I'd be wearing yoga pants and a Tshirt too.

4. Share a favorite lesser known blog you enjoy reading.
One of my favorite blogs to read that isn't as well known is Angi's blog Into the Forest Dim. She brings humor into most of her posts and just shares things about her life in Alaska. I've learned some great tips from reading her blog and even borrowed her idea of sharing funny stuff occasionally on Fridays.

5. What was your favorite childhood book?
I read so much as a child. I still read a lot of children's books today (as a teacher), so it's hard to pick a favorite! I love Dr. Seuss. When I was a little older, I read a lot of Babysitter's Club books. I also like mysteries like Nancy Drew. Today, Holes is one of my favorite children's books.

6. Give us a piece of good life advice.
I'll use my favorite quote "I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count.-Jack from the movie Titanic. Live your life in the moment. Enjoy life as it comes at you. Don't wish your life away by always looking forward to the next step. MAKE IT COUNT!

7. If you could go back in time and slap someone in the face, who would you slap? (old boyfriend? Hitler? Paula Deen?  Whomever!)
I'd probably want to go back and slap the people (probably men) who invented things like makeup, straighteners, bras, pantyhose, tights, thongs, and all those other things that are meant to make women more "beautiful" but if they'd never been invented in the first place...we wouldn't know any better!

And then of course I asked myself:

If I were a Barbie doll, what would be my accessories?
Glasses, an iphone, and a block of cheese.  lol

My favorite lesser known blog: Laura from Little Moments, Big Moments so I can vicariously live in New York, and also cook amazing looking foods :)

My favorite childhood book:

and I credit her for my love of puns.  lol

Life advice?  Don't take it too seriously, no one gets out alive.  :)

If I could go back in time and slap someone?  I would go slap Aaron when we broke up after 3 months of dating.  Biggest mistake of his life! ;) lol

And now a giveaway!
